In addition to meeting individually with parents, we offer workshops throughout the community in both English and Spanish. We share information about Boston Public Schools and answer a wide array of questions, like the ones listed below.

  • How have the schools improved in recent years?
  • What opportunities are there for parent involvement in BPS?
  • What is the maximum number of students per class?
  • Can my child attend any school in the city?
  • What is a walk zone?
  • When is the best time to visit a school, and do I have to schedule my visit?
  • Do I go to the school of my choice to register or do I go somewhere else?
  • What are my child’s chances of getting a K1 slot?
  • How old does my child need to be to register for K2?
  • If I register on the first day are my chances better of getting the school I want for my child?

"Thank you all. Y/BPS is a huge asset to us parents trying to make thoughtful decisions."

Caroline Hopkins, Roxbury
